The Trail

Run Against Traffic. I AM Fitness, Impact Timing, and Grace Church of Newport News are partnering  once again to host the I AM 10K and One Mile Fun Run.  Together we will raise awareness, support, and funding for the Nepali Rescue Project and its fight against human trafficking.

I Am 10K. Once the scholarship became self-sustaining, I Am Fitness, LLC renamed the event the I Am 10K.  Proceeds from the 10K supported local mission work in the Hampton Roads Area.

Big Daddy 10K. Windle Day, our founder, started the Big Daddy 10K to support a memorial scholarship in honor of a fellow National Guardsmen shot down over Iraq.

This is a 10K trail run/walk through the hiking and biking trails of Newport News Park.  The trails are wide and forgiving to the joints. The undulating terrain offers a challenge to the competitive spirit.  The race is strategically timed to integrate into your training program for the Colonial 1/2 Marathon and Shamrock Marathon.   For those just wanting to blend fitness, fun, and history.  Enjoy your trip around Newport News park as you pass George Washington's encampment as well as other encampments used during the Revolutionary War.

Based in Newport News Park the trail crosses two bridges over the reservoir. The race starts on Old Stable Road and parking is located near the horse ring.
